Manufacturing Composite Components & Structures

Through our facilities, NE Space Tech Manufacturing Programs are designed to apply innovative processes and  technologies in working with our customers to simplify complex designs and provide faster times to your solution. Space missions are becoming more frequent and require more reliability to launch.

Handling Exotic Alloys

Materials characterized by high-level resistance to the extremes of heat, cold & corrosive environments as well as long-term wear capacity often fall within the class of exotic alloys. The high-pressure applications that are required within aerospace, defense & space programs require these characteristics for highly complex components.

Composite Components

With a team of over 30 years of experience delivering sophisticated composite repairs for nacelles and stabilizers or conducting intricate nose-to-tail flight control overhaul in the aerospace industry, we offer a full range of services to the space exploration industry. We have balanced technology and technical proficiency with the art of caring for our clients.

Additive Technologies

There are seven main categories of Additive Manufacturing technologies including photopolymerization, Material Extrusion, Material Jetting, Binder Jetting, Powder bed fusion, Direct energy deposition and Sheet lamination. Employing these technologies in the aviation industry made significant progress in the past decade and can now be directed to the space industry. Printing of complex spacecraft components instead of assembling them from various parts is gradually becoming a commonplace. At present, it is mainly used for non-critical flight components and rapid tooling in maintenance. Eventually, additive manufacturing will impact logistics operations, reducing turn around times dramatically and less capital required for spare parts inventory.

One of the most significant challenges that space ventures need to overcome in order to place satellites, probes, landers, telescopes or even spacecraft in orbit is the high per kilogram cost required to break free of the Earth’s gravitational pull. This means that for every additional kilogram of payload, mission costs can increase by several orders of magnitude because heavier or bigger payloads require larger and more powerful launch vehicles. Additive Manufacturing addresses speed, logistics, and cost variables. In the next decade with more flights to space, more construction will take place in space. No technology can deliver on location, distributed manufacturing of complex parts more efficiently than additive manufacturing.

Developing and employing additive manufacturing is one of our core strategies. NE Space Tech is well-positioned to help your space company leverage the power of this innovative manufacturing process with our proven aerospace heritage, innovative design solutions and a wide range of flight qualified materials, our team are ready to work with you to simplify complex designs and reduce your time-to-solution, so you can help humanity explore the final frontier.

Repairs & Repair Management

We have invested heavily in our repair facilities, enabling us to scale in order to meet the ever-increasing demand for our state-of-the-industry repair services; in our people, whose proficiency in such sophisticated technical areas as composite construction and aerospace welding is unsurpassed; in our Quality Culture, which assures adherence to the most rigid quality standards in all phases of the manufacturing process; and in the tools and technologies we employ to extend the life of our customers’ spacecraft and support assets.

Time and Materials – meeting unplanned repair needs
Flat-Rate Repairs – standard schedule of repairs and associated costs
Repair By The Hour – historical maintenance and repair data result in a program that eliminates variability and fixes costs

Through our partnership with 630 Aerospace, NE Space Tech Engineering Programs are designed to prolong the useful life of parts and assemblies. We apply cutting-edge technologies and a superior technical proficiency to re-engineer, repair and manufacture those parts and return customer components to service more quickly and at a lower cost. Currently, 630 Aerospace is fortunate to serve a wide range of aviation companies and aircraft operators. As we add spacecraft components to our manufacturing service, we’ve created a service delivery capability that accommodates each customer’s mission requirements, business needs and financial goals.

Spacecraft Interiors - maintains interiors for satellite / cargo delivery or passenger orbit in optimum flight-performance condition. Heavy-use interior components require specialized treatment, and the NE Space Tech team provides it -- from reinforced, impact resistant floor panels to overhead structural repairs. Structural repair capabilities extend to dent removal, partial and full skin replacement, repairing core components and welds, and manufacturing replacement parts, seals and fittings.
